What is Aso-Ebi
Aso-Ebi is a vibrant West African tradition where family and friends wear matching or coordinated outfits—often in bold, beautiful fabrics—to show solidarity during celebrations like weddings, naming ceremonies, or funerals. The term means "family cloth" in Yoruba. As seen in the image, Aso-Ebi is not just clothing; it’s a cultural expression of unity, elegance, and belonging.

Program Overview
The Aso Ebi Exchange Program invites donors to contribute gently used, laundered traditional garments to promote cultural dignity and charitable empowerment. Items are retained in the U.S. for cultural exhibitions and fundraising events, with proceeds used to commission new attire for underserved families in Nigeria. Donations valued up to $499 require no IRS form; gifts between $500–$4,999 require IRS Form 8283 Section A, and those $5,000 or more require a qualified appraisal and Section B. All contributions are tax-deductible through the Birth Center Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

Give Tradition, Receive Impact
By giving to the Aso Ebi Exchange Program, donors help preserve cherished cultural traditions while uplifting women and families during life’s special moments. The program supports joyous community celebrations by ensuring that new Aso Ebi garments are locally made in Nigeria and distributed to those in need. Donors also benefit by receiving a meaningful tax deduction, making their generosity both culturally enriching and financially beneficial.
